So, two weekends ago I went to San Francisco on a whim. Here’s what happened.
I was packed and ready to hop on the train to SF for the 8pm doors open for NERO @ the Warfield.
Waited around for about 15 minutes for the train. It was late.
Sat on the train for 30 minutes because apparently a pedestrian was hit on the tracks earlier that day. Bummer. But that just meant I had time for…
We eventually got going as the sun was going down. Stepped off the train in SF at about 7:30pm and I walked about 2 miles to my accidentally too fancy for me hotel.
Threw on the xxl wuf tee and started killing the half hour I had before the show. Half a bottle of Jack in just a couple minutes left me a little excited. Hadn’t drank like that since college… get it?
I get to the concert and as you can imagine, it was fucking fantastic. Met a couple great people in the crowd and just raged to some loud music (which I have been suffering from withdrawals from)
Concerts over and a maid let me back into the hotel. I had to show her my key first because I’m sure I looked like a goon.
Woke up at 8:30. Don’t know how I did it being hung over for the first time in a couple weeks. Got breakfast, and started walking.
Walked through Chinatown and right about here I stopped at a tiny hole in the wall coffee shop and had the best coffee I’ve ever had with a free truffle. Super french dude.
Kept walking til I got here…
Good ol’ tourist trap. So, I went around and looked at stuff.
This was the first time I had ever glimpsed the Golden Gate. You can see it in the background :P
Then I sat down here to burn time before my ferry across the bay to Alameda for a kiteboarding lesson.
And I got one of these, cuervo spiked corona.
And people watched for a long time, just sat and enjoyed the sun. And randomly, I met one of the nicest people yet since coming out to CA. It was a pretty great day.
Hopped on the ferry and went here… after another couple miles of walking.
The next day, I drove up to Pacifica.
And took some surf lessons at 8:30am here…
Found out that this is the closest Taco Bell to any ocean. Yeah, that’s a Taco Bell on the beach. It has a walk up window on the outside so you don’t have to track sand and drip on the inside… Awesome.
